Susan Bratton
Founder and CEO

Susan Bratton, Founder and CEO. Susan founded Katabiann Advisors in 2004 after a career on Wall Street where she focused exclusively on and developed deep domain expertise in the healthcare and insurance industries. Susan was a member of the healthcare groups at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Robertson Stephens and Wasserstein, Perella & Co. and developed the healthcare services franchises at CIBC World Markets and BMO Capital Markets. During her career on Wall Street, she has represented a broad range of clients in equity and debt financings, mergers & acquisitions and other financial and strategic advisory assignments. Prior to her career on Wall Street, Susan worked for Marsh & McLennan in the Property and Casualty division where she specialized in international and captive-related assignments for Fortune 500 clients.  Susan is a frequent speaker at healthcare industry conferences; she recently moderated a panel on new trends in the behavioral healthcare sector and will lead a panel on the future of physician groups and practices in December of 2010 at the HCAP Conference in Washington, D.C. Susan is a Registered Representative and holds the Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 securities registrations. She is actively involved in a number of industry associations including Women Business Leaders in Healthcare and the Healthcare Business Women’s Association and also serves on the Advisory Board of HCAP. Susan earned a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Susan is involved in raising money for Dream, Discover, Cure, an organization funding research in innovative stem and cellular therapies to combat cancer, blood diseases and other life threatening disorders, volunteers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Oncology Unit and is a marathon runner representing MSKCC on Fred’s Team to raise money for cancer research. In her spare time, Susan enjoys traveling, food and wine and music.

Aafia Chaudhry, MD. Aafia joined Katabiann Advisors in September 2010. Aafia is a pioneer in the study of key opinion leadership science, influence networks, physician sentiment analysis and healthcare innovation adoption relating to pharmaceutical life cycle management strategy. She departed full-time clinical practice in general surgery in order to pursue a career in healthcare advisory and consulting and has successfully supported drug commercialization efforts within the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Until March 2010, Aafia held the position of President, 81qd, an innovation hub employing proprietary data mining techniques to deliver custom Key Opinion Leader strategy solutions for leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. In her spare time, Aafia serves as a Leadership Alliance Board Member for the Melanoma Research Foundation, and is a frequent invited speaker at industry symposia. In 2007 she received a Healthcare Business Women’s Association Rising Star Award, and in 2008, she was the recipient of the prestigious Healthcare Business Women’s Association’s, President’s Award. She lives and works in New York City and is an avid oil painter, gardener and world traveler.
